5 minute chocolate cake
Sorry for my extended absence! Moving is a lengthy process!
Nothing beats a warm chocolate-y cake on a chilly Sunday evening! But when you don’t feel like a full on baking session and the only chocolate you have in the house is in powder form…what do you do?
{Beware:- This the most dangerous cake recipe in the world. You are now only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time...

Birthday Gluten Free Cupcakes!
These last few weeks have been so tiring! I’ve been doing some work experience in a law firm to finish off my qualifications and I have not had much time to spend baking or blogging. One of my good GF friends had a birthday a few weeks ago, so I could hardly resist baking her some cupcake treats!
PS: Tumblr has gone and done something so that I can no longer re-size the photos so I...

Birthday Cupcakes!
It was my manager’s birthday on Friday and she managed to keep quiet about it until it was all over and done with. But I decided that since I had this big bowl of Ganache in my fridge I might as well make her some birthday cupcakes!!
Novice or Pro?
The difference between an novice and a professional baker….a novice still burns cupcakes in the oven.
I’m a novice >.<

Birthday Mini Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting
One of my close friends is having a very large joint triplicate birthday party tonight. When she came to visit me last night, I impulsively decided to bake her LOTS of mini cupcakes for the event =D. We (I*) baked for HOURS and I am pretty chuffed at the end result.
I used the same recipe for the Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes in my previous post, but I used normal self-raising flour...

My new "Mix Master"
So I might really want a mix master. And I might kind of have bought one. Except it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, and it’s not a “Mix Master”. But it IS a stand mixer that only cost me $30 from a discount store. SCORE!! So to celebrate my epic win, I decided to bake!
And it was so worth the $30.

Ginger cupcakes
I’ve been craving gingerbread biscuits or men or something with ginger in it for a while now, so in the spirit of learning new things I thought I would mix and mash some recipes together and make Ginger cupcakes. Yum!
Because I sort of made the recipe up as I went, they were good and really yummy but really moist and sticky, so the recipe needs perfecting yet. ...

I'm so excited!!
I feel like a kid before Christmas. Except Santa got delayed by some horrible freak accident and it’s now New Year’s Eve and I still haven’t got my presents. Because I just bought a Canon 400D with a memory card and a camera bag from a friend for $300 and its NOT HERE YET!!! Granted it’s three years old but I don’t care I’ve wanted one for so long and I’m...

Chocolate Coffee Cupcakes - DELICIOUS!
For those of you who love coffee, you NEED to make these cupcakes!!! I have only just started drinking coffee, but I made these and took them into work where they were devoured in about two hours by coffee-loving junkies with rave reviews. One of the girls who had never really eaten my cupcakes before because she was “watching her weight” ate TWO and said they were the best cupcakes...

Useful Websites
There are so many websites out there about cupcakes and cake decorating that sometimes it felt like looking through a haystack for a needle trying to find some good information and tips.
I have found Wilton’s an invaluable resource for recipes and especially decorations tips and techniques!! They have a great section on piping and which tips create which looks.

Trial and Error
There are so many amazing cupcakes out there that sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed and I can’t even imagine where to begin. But I did begin, even though the first few times my piping attempts looked a bit like colourful turds:
